Customer Reviews:

• "I stayed up late to read this book. It wasn't hard to do! Lovely writing! I adore the picture on the cover and mid-book, and my favorite poem of all is "Side By Side." It is heartwarming and touching. I also loved "Silent Tears." The entire chapbook was a pleasure to read. It is "real life" writing" - Floria Kelderhouse

• "On the soft blue-gray cover of Dan Tharp's chapbook is the image of an old photo of the grandparents whom he describes in the title poem, "Side by Side." This picture sets the tone for a book that is a treasury of Dan's sentimental memories and reflections on life. First Dan writes of being inspired artistically in his late 30's by the writings of Poe. Dan's own quaintly-worded poems reflect his love of the old style of lyrical poetry. I particularly enjoy the use of repeating and alternating lines within his verse. Examples of some lovely repeating lines are the title lines of the poems "HOpe Doth Fly," "Sweet Slumber Softly Treads," or the triolet "My Heart Residing In Thy Chest." Dan Tharp shines when writing poems that employ rhythmic refrains, but the most striking feature of his work is its sincerity, for Dan is a poet who writes from the heart." - Andrea Dietrich
