The White Lotus is a classy 5.5" x 8.5" chapbook style biannual magazine featuring haiku, senryu, tanka and haiga.
Two issues will be offered yearly: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer of corresponding seasonal themed haiku, senryu, tanka, and haiga
released in August and February respectively.
Subscription Rates: $15.00/year US; $20.00/year International; Single Copy: $10.00. Make checks payable to "Shadow Poetry" or order online.
Submissions: White Lotus accepts high quality submissions of these forms: haiku, senryu, tanka and haiga.
Taiga, sumi-e and haiku related articles and/or book reviews are welcome. Since this is a small press operation,
White Lotus does not pay for submissions should they appear within an issue or give contributors free copies. All
monies from subscriptions go toward the production of the magazine and shipping costs.

once it is made available.

Send up to ten pieces per poet for review with the correct seasonal theme* in accordance to the next issue
to be released by mail, email to whitelotus@shadowpoetry.com,
or using the submission form below.
Name of the poet, address, and email address (if applicable)
must accompany all submissions, no exceptions.
*Seasonal Theme: We want fall, winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc.
haiku for the Fall/Winter issues and spring, summer, Valentine's Day, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, Groundhog Day,
Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. haiku for the Spring/Summer issues. Other holidays and events within these
seasons are welcome.
All work, if accepted, must be the original work(s) of the poet/author/artist and previously unpublished. We
do not accept any works that have been previously published (print or web). The White Lotus will have first-time
publishing rights to all material until after the issue is released when the copyrights will revert back to the
original author/artist so he/she may publish the same material elsewhere in the future. Neither Shadow Poetry
nor the White Lotus will ever take or sell the copyrights to anyone’s works.
Acceptance letters will be sent out to all poets and authors appearing within an issue at least three weeks
before the magazine is scheduled for release.
