The Fright Site
Here I lie, within my web;

Deep in a recess of my secret lair,
My electronic castle in the air,
Not sleeping;
Simply resting in my bed
Waiting.

I listen to the throbbing of the wire;
That hypersonic pulse of silver fire.
The whispery, whistling signal of
approach.

This web, that brings you
surfing to my verse,
One more Enigma in the Universe
Can find you hanging
from a sticky strand.
My parlour.

Or else, should you escape this awful place,
I may, upon a whim, choose to re-trace
The path that finds your
switched off terminal.
and terminate.

Come brothers, sisters, welcome to this site.
Fantastic horrors wait for your delight.
and then, my final gift, at dead of night.

my mega-byte.

The Children of the Night
The moon is full and shining
It fills us with delight
It's time we went out hunting
We children of the night

Listen to us calling
The night is clear and still
And nature sits with bated breath
As we run down our kill

The mystery of our Moon Song
Will fill your heart with dread
We come as bat or werewolf
To take you from your bed

The screaming of our victims
Beaten, bloody , raw
Is music to our monstrous ears
As we regale in gore

And once we take your virtue
Betray you with our bite
Then you must come and join us
We children of the night

Come join in the love songs
We render to the Moon
Come take part in our ritual
And dance the Devil's tune

For we are Satan's children
We run before the light
Delighting in dark kingdoms,
We children of the night

Rest Assured
On Halloween, as any Celt will tell
a door swings open, joining Earth to Hell
And witches, ghosts, and fiends are everywhere
Their fearful howls and moaning fill the air.

Best to remain beside your fire’s light
till morning sun defeats this dreadful night.
Close up your ears and shut the trembling eye
in case the Devil’s Horsemen ride the sky.

But if abroad, be sure to wear a charm
to guard your soul and keep you safe from harm
for Jason and his cohorts lie in wait
to drag you through the doors of Satan’s gate.

If you arouse the Devil’s deep desire
no power on earth can save you from his ire;
So bravely see the Devil face to face
and offer up your soul to God’s good grace.

Seduction
Come pretty maiden, time that you went home;
Leave your companions walking through the park.
Haven’t you heard, it isn’t safe to roam
out of your house when all the world is dark

Now pretty maiden, time to climb the stairs;
Pull back your counterpane and get in bed/
Protect yourself from evil, say your prayers
against this chill, this ever growing dread

Sleep pretty maiden, tremble in your dream;
I am the phantom drifting through your night.
None comes to aid you, no one hears you scream
as you surrender to my feral bite

When I have drained your sweet white body dry
you will become enamoured of the night
and as eternal lovers, you and I
will share an ecstasy of dark delight.

Psychiatric Acrobatics
The onset of a nervous breakdown

Come in my dear!
take off your coat.
A lovely coat; Mink, is it not?
and are those pearls around your throat?
My dear, it’s very clear to see
you need to seek psychiatry.

Come now my dear!
Please take a chair,
And rest your feet; such dainty feet.
There are some secrets we must share,
a mutual psychology
when we explore psychiatry.

Come, come my dear!
We have to find
what made you sick; what ugly deed
corrupted and inflamed your mind
and brought you trembling here to me.
in such need of psychiatry.

Pray tell me dear!
Did some strange man
caress your limbs; what shapely limbs.
Try to remember if you can.
Did someone in your family
cause you to need psychiatry.

Or was it dear
a teenage dance,
when those sweet lips; what tempting lips,
were lured into a false romance.
For broken hearts can scar you see;
Need mending by psychiatry.

Lie still my dear!
While I caress
Your many charms; such female charms.
While I your body gently press.
This early session will be free;
A lesson in psychiatry.

What’s that you say?
You think I’m ill?
You say my face is red with lust;
such ugly lust.
Now you must leave my surgery.
Please go away. I’ll send the bill;
Please make it payable to me.

I need it for psychiatry.

Blood Oaths
Hush, my sweet lady, you need cry no more.
No bogeyman will dare invade this door,
no wizard, warlock, self indulgent witch,
no Baron with a predatory itch,
No King will come a-knocking at your gate;
For I have vowed to have you for my mate

On Halloween, upon the witching hour
when all the hordes of Hell come into power,
when Satan’s Imps go dancing through the night,
when old folks hearts give up in dreadful fright.
Then will I come with both arms open wide;
For I have vowed to take you for my bride

On Halloween, the evening of the beast
We’ll celebrate our lonely wedding feast.
We’ll drink a toast from glasses brimming blood
drained from the pure, the innocent, the good,
and I will give to you eternal life
for I have vowed to take you for my wife

On Halloween, we’ll make our maiden flight;
As vampire bats we’ll flutter through the night,
and if some child should ask us ‘Trick or Treat’
We’ll snatch him up and drink his blood so sweet;
And centuries from now, we’ll sit and dream
of how we loved, on our first Halloween.
