The Imposed Differences

by Gacina Bozidar

The language and signs of language are supposed to be highly mystical means for the individual who does not read and for individual who does not write. What individual does not write and does not read? It is without any doubt a very young child and maybe the adult who lives in such a poverty which cannot allow him to read and write. Or simply the adult from the background where the education is not a priority. Now let us say that very young children do not read and that they do not use the written language though they can speak. Furthermore, it is just supposition then, that very big and considerable mass of people really is educated and is able to use the written language. What is very significant is that even so we have one language, our education is divided in many sciences and knowledge is categorised. What interests me when the science of language is talked is the drama of division between the gifted user of the written language and someone who is not gifted user of the written language. The gifted user of the language is inevitable magician and the very important cabbalistic teacher whilst the other user of the written language is the machine who only consummates the words. Very often, someone who is not gifted is having a social role as for example the University professor or anything in the sort of educational institution. The gifted user of the written language is very often isolated private reader and writer for his own pleasure. He can understand that his 'holy spirit' speaks through him and that he communicates to the others in a very interesting spiritual manner. One characteristic of the gifted writer is the capability to read what he never saw and to recognize that he already knew unseen or unpublished text. This is quality of an overall understanding of the basic code and the basic structure of the whole alphabet. To be a kind of prophet and to be capable of producing the text who is gift of extra sensorial perception and pure vision. What interests me is that very often the individual employed to serve to ordinary educational system is at his position the user of one ordinary ranking and one ordinary social position. At the same time, for example, whilst someone enjoys his academic position, the mass of people are using their freedom of the speech. What is interesting to discuss is the relationship between freedom of speech and the ordinary education who has its source not at the street, 'not outside' but 'inside the classroom' and to draw with the best precision the gap who divides the official language and unofficial language. In very simple terms, you are outsider without the degrees and you are not educated as for example your class-mate who had enjoyed very important success in the school. Both of you are equals among equals concerning 'freedom of speech' and the street language. Both of you will be equally able to order the dinner in the restaurant. As this equality stands like this, as many public acts are absolutely same whether one is at highest educational level or not, the essential question is to draw the conclusion that many social differences and positions are the artificial. What I can write and imagine as individual who is not the best student is the mystery and unreachable secret for the best student. As the best and worst student can in the same public way and with the same expression order the dinner in the restaurant. What I want to conclude from this thoughts is the first idea that the very young children are not capable to use the written language at all. But when all the people and all the adults are the users of the written language they may be so divided that it can represent incredible, painful schizophrenic of the organized way of life. People are the users of one knowledge, it is to say of one alphabet and only one language but they do not have the same success in the school or in the social life or in their careers although the mean of communication is only one official system of the signs. In the other words, how one poet can be friend with electrician? How one professor can accept that he's just the machine who speaks, how one prophet can explain to politician that he is a prophet and that the other one is a politician and it is already different quality. What is important to conclude that this essay would like to give a chance to his reader to understand the phenomenon of the imposed differences among the individuals and what is serious tragedy is that the imposed differences are implied or imposed to the equals. Should one democratically ideal and understanding be real so that we understand that it is incredible to have the chronology of life that is in the pure sense abnormal. The mass of very young children do not understand anything written, then they grow up learning the same things and the same language, then they are grouped in the artificial socially determined categories into adulthood. Going back in the times of Bible, what kind of educational system decided the Jonah would be Jonah, or what kind of educational system decided Isaiah would be Isaiah? Was it at the University Tables that their Biblical eternal position was decided, or it just belonged to 'the words coming through them' If we try to apply this today, we must realize that the Education is based on the knowledge who comes from 'outside of individual'.
